‘Lowest cost by far’ AMPS lithium batteries powerful, lightweight and versatile
The new Advanced Mobile Power Systems (AMPS) by Sterling Power offer twice the run-time and are nearly half the weight of similar-sized lead acid batteries. If used correctly, they also boast a life expectancy that is an astonishing 10 to 20 times longer.
Designed as a powerful drop-in replacement for similar sized lead acid batteries, the AMPS LiFePO4 12v lithium batteries come complete with a built-in Battery Management System, safety shut-down system and their own Bluetooth battery monitoring app.
They can also be safely linked together in groups of up to 4 in series to produce a 48v bank or, in unlimited numbers in parallel, to increase amp/hour capacity and to increase charge and discharge rates.
Other features include a faster charge cycle, fire-retardant plastic case and a five-year warranty.
Silke Sigley, of AMPS’ New Zealand distributor Lusty and Blundell, says the new batteries are, by far, the lowest cost batteries on the market.
“When you take into account how many conventional batteries you will need to match the performance and life cycle span of one of these, an AMPS lithium battery delivers by far the lowest cost per cycle.
“Lithium battery capacity is also 100% usable, unlike that of a lead acid battery, which is only 50%. Lithium batteries are also less than half the weight of the equivalent lead acid battery, meaning that the available energy-per-weight-ratio is a very impressive FOUR times better with lithium batteries.”
The powerful new Advanced Mobile Power Systems (AMPS) 12v lithium batteries are produced by Sterling Power, manufacturers of Sterling Battery-to-Battery Chargers, Sterling Daisy Chain Temperature Alarms and the Sterling Alternator Open Circuit Protection Devices.
The new AMPS lithium batteries come in 60AH, 100AH and 120AH models and are now available nationwide through Lusty & Blundell’s nationwide network of leading marine dealers.
