L&B hosts America’s Cup briefing & industry networking event
At the beginning of December, leading marine products and systems supplier Lusty & Blundell hosted a fun and informative America’s Cup briefing and industry network event in their spacious showroom in Albany, on Auckland’s North Shore.
The popular event featured an in-depth pre-America’s Cup World Series presentation from sailing expert, writer and America’s Cup commentator Richard Gladwell.
Richard, who has already spent hundreds of hours on the water following the America’s Cup challengers and Emirates Team NZ, shared never-before-seen footage of the four teams in action to highlight his observations on the teams’ various design approaches, the conditions that favour each team, the developments in technology and his opinions on how the races will play out.
Vesper Marine co-founder Carl Omundsen also shared the latest developments and innovations in their exciting new all-in-one solution for VHF, AIS and Monitoring – Vesper Cortex. Being the world's first VHF with high speed SOTDMA AIS transponder technology and built in cloud-based monitoring, Cortex redefines how we see, use and interact with various systems onboard and was well received by the around 50 members of the marine industry and boating and fishing media who also used the opportunity to catch up and network in a relaxed, pre-Xmas-rush environment.
