VETUS’ New Extended Run-Time Thrusters
VETUS’ new extended run-time thrusters are ideal for use with the new all-in-one joystick controls or in adverse conditions such as strong tidal flows or high winds.
Conventional electric bow or stern thrusters that can only operate for 2-4 minutes at a time before over-heating. However, thanks to specially designed new 24v motors, which develop the same thrust force with only a fraction of the heat build up, VETUS’ new extended run-time thrusters can safely operate continuously for 7 to 10 minutes!

“This is a great breakthrough in thruster design,” says Grant Matthew, product manager at VETUS New Zealand distributor, Lusty and Blundell Ltd. “It is perfect for the increasing number of boats now employing a single joystick control for both their engines and thrusters.
“Just as importantly, it is ideal for those wanting to dock in areas of strong tidal flow and those with lots of windage needing to berth in very windy conditions.
“Inexperienced boaties will also welcome the ability to use their thrusters for longer periods. So, too, will charter operators offering unskippered boats for charter.”
To celebrate the launch of the new VETUS extended run-time thrusters, Lusty and Blundell is offering free on-site suitability assessments.
“If you are building or refurbishing a boat or looking to install a bow thruster for the first time, we are happy to come out and complete a free vessel assessment,” says Grant Matthew. “We will talk you through the options and help you decide whether an extended run-time thruster or a conventional thruster is right for you.”
VETUS’ complete thruster range can now be supplied with new high quality aluminium control panels. They feature VETUS” renowned quiet operation, offer fast, effective and efficient manoeuvring, are easy to install and come complete with clear installation and operation instructions.
