Raymarine’s LightHouse 4 update a bonus for keen Kiwi fishers
Raymarine’s new LightHouse 4.1.75 operating system for Axiom displays and the RVX1000 RealVision 3D module boasts some real advantages for keen Kiwi fishers.
The new software package, which is free for Axiom owners to download, features a number of new enhancements, many targeted at the way New Zealanders go fishing.
“As our aluminium boats have got better and better, more and more Kiwis have been heading further offshore,” says Mark Milburn, managing director of Raymarine’s New Zealand distributor, Lusty and Blundell Ltd. “They have also been installing bigger and more sophisticated electronics packages and fitting multiple battery banks.
“That combination of powerful electronics, close together in a relatively small aluminium boat, and the aeration often encountered in rough water can pose problems for those targeting big fish in offshore conditions. LightHouse 4 improves those issues and provides greatly enhanced, consistently clear, bottom tracking and target acquisition, regardless of the sea state.”
Mark Milburn says improvements in diagnostic monitoring (including existing remote monitoring) also allows owners, installers and even L&B’s service team to tune the operating system for each individual boat, either while on board or remotely, via Raymarine’s clever AnyDesk application.
Other enhancements include greatly improved diagnostic sonar recording and an expanded library of species-specific fish icons, making it easy to see at a glance what fish are likely to be caught at fishers’ favourite waypoints.
LightHouse 4.1.75 also boasts expanded NMEA2000 battery monitoring, enabling owners to quickly detect, monitor, alarm and set customised names for compatible batteries and battery banks on the network and enhanced connectivity with Mercury’s VesselView app, including Skyhook virtual anchoring and fluid level checking.
Raymarine’s new LightHouse 4 operating system is suitable for all Axiom, Axiom+, Axiom Pro, and Axiom XL MFDs and is now available and free to download using the Axiom’s software update feature or from http://www.raymarine.eu/multifunction-displays/lighthouse3/.
