DAME Award for RSW Smart Wind Transducer a stunning ‘three-peat’ for Raymarine!

Date: 29-Nov-2024

Raymarine’s RSW Smart Wind Transducer has won the coveted DAME award in the Navigation and Communication category at the prestigious 2024 DAME Awards at METSTRADE in Amsterdam.

It is the third year in a row Raymarine have enjoyed hard-won success in these pinnacle industry awards. In 2003, the company also won the fiercely-contested Navigation and Communication category for their popular Raymarine Alpha Performance Display and, in 2022, the Raymarine YachtSense 4G Link router won the Award for Marine Electronics and Marine Related Software.

A wired NMEA 2000 compatible masthead sensor, the RSW Smart Wind Transducer brings professional-level wind data to recreational sailors. It combines a precision calibrated wind vane and anemometer with solid-state gyro, accelerometer and magnetometer sensors to provide fast, ultra-precise True Wind data.

Designed for sailors, by sailors, the RSW Smart Wind Transducer is not only lightweight but also extremely strong and sophisticated: its 3D sensors and Smart Wind algorithms automatically compensating for boat speed, leeway, mast twist, mast bend and rotation. Vessel pitch and roll as well as wave action effects are also automatically factored in as the transducer delivers a super accurate plug-and-go stream of data for NMEA 2000 third-party instruments and displays.

The RSW Smart Wind Transducer was not the only Raymarine product to be recognised at the 2024 DAME Awards. The company’s Pathfinder Solid State IMO radar, a navigation and collision avoidance radar for commercial vessels and superyachts also received a Special Mention in the Navigation and Communication category.
