Date: 01-Sep-2016

Raymarine’s new Quantum CHIRP radar, the first recreational marine radar dome to feature CHIRP pulse compression technology, is setting a high new standard for compact solid state radar. Raymarine’s new Quantum CHIRP radar, the first recreational marine radar dome to feature CHIRP pulse compression technology, is setting a high new standard for compact solid state radar.

Quantum CHIRP radar delivers superior radar imaging in both long and short ranges, thanks to multiple compressed radar pulses and Raymarine’s exclusive ATXTM advanced target separation technology. This enables Quantum to display targets like boats, landmarks, rocks, buoys and weather cells with unsurpassed resolution and separation quality, especially when compared to traditional radars.

In tight quarters, Quantum’s CHIRP technology easily identifies targets as close as 5.5m while, offshore, Quantum delivers exceptional long-range imagery and highly accurate target returns.

Quantum’s on-board processing also automatically eliminates rain and sea clutter, blocks interference from other radars and ensures noise-free, easy to interpret images in congested waterways.

Quantum’s lightweight design and Wi-Fi connectivity make it easy to install and super simple to operate. Weighing just 5.4kgs, (50 percent less than traditional radars), Quantum also breaks new ground with Wi-Fi networking to Raymarine MFDs, eliminating the need for additional cabling or interface boxes.

Quantum’s solid state design and highly efficient electronics significantly reduce power consumption, extending vessel battery life and making it ideal for both launches and yachts.

Quantum CHIRP Radar will be available from Lusty and Blundell’s nationwide network of leading marine dealers in the first quarter of 2016, from $3099 RRP.
