Betta’s exciting new Lead Crystal® batteries offer cheaper, more reliable & safer boating
Betta Lead Crystal® Batteries, distributed in New Zealand by Lusty & Blundell, are set to make boating more reliable, safer and less expensive.
Developed by Betta Batteries, the world’s only manufacturer of Lead Crystal® batteries, Betta Lead Crystal® batteries feature breakthrough new technology. More importantly, they have none of the disadvantages of traditional lead-acid, gel or AGM batteries.
“Lead Crystal® batteries are incredibly robust and have an extremely long service life: up to 18 years (or 6000 cycles at 20% Depth Of Discharge)!” says L&B product manager Bob Fassio. “They can also be deeply, or even completely, discharged without damage, meaning owners can safely install smaller battery banks.
“With traditional marine batteries, mistakenly deeply discharging, under charging or experiencing an extended lay up without charging can completely ruin a battery, inconveniencing friends and family and costing the boat owner.
“In contrast, with a Lead Crystal® battery, there is no lasting damage and the battery can be quickly and safely recharged back up to 100% capacity.”
Lead Crystal® batteries can also be stored for up to 2 years without top-up charging, offer similar performance to lithium batteries at just a 1/3 of the cost, are cleaner and safer than lead-acid batteries (with less acid, no cadmium and no antimony) and up to 99% recyclable. Classified as non-hazardous for air, sea and land travel, they are also easier to transport. They do not require special ventilation or cooling, meaning they can be positioned virtually anywhere on board.
“There is no doubt that Lead Crystal® batteries are going to completely change the way boaties buy, install and service their batteries,” says Bob Fassio. “Robust, relatively inexpensive, incredibly long-lasting, virtually impossible to damage — why would you want anything else?”
Betta Lead Crystal® batteries — which are also perfect for RVs, solar energy storage systems, electric vehicles, industrial equipment (such as forklifts and cleaning machines) and Uninterruptible Power Supplies — are now available nationwide through Lusty and Blundell’s network of leading marine dealers.
