Predict Wind App now available on Raymarine Axiom MFDs
Owners of Raymarine Axiom Multi-Function Displays can now access popular PredictWind high-resolution forecasts using either Wi-Fi or mobile data.
The PredictWind access, which is available through Bermuda 3.10, the latest update to Raymarine’s powerful LightHouse operating system, comes in a mobile-friendly format complete with simple pinch zoom and scrolling.
PredictWind, the widely used marine weather forecasting app, was founded by 1992 Barcelona 470 Olympian, current world foiling Waszps Masters Champion and renowned America’s Cup weatherman, Jon Bilger and developed in New Zealand. It is designed to deliver some of the world’s most advanced weather modelling technology to ordinary sailors, power boaters, ocean-crosses and fishers. It offers a range of helpful, practical forecasting information, including live wind observations from around the world, forecast alerts sent directly to subscribers’ devices and weather routing and departure planning tools.
The Axiom-enabled PredictWind app gives users access to either an entry-level free service or a range of more sophisticated services available through a monthly subscription. The free service offers a daily weather briefing, accurate local wind maps and a variety of different modelling tables and graphs. The Basic subscription service also includes Wave, CAPE (Convective Available Potential Energy), Gust, Rain, Cloud and Isobar maps and more detailed wind mapping.
The more advanced Standard service also features detailed Route Mapping and Departure Planning, Sea Temperature maps and both satellite and SSB email delivery.
The new LightHouse Bermuda operating system is available now and is quick, easy and free to download via http://www.raymarine.com.au/multifunction-displays/lighthouse3/v3-10/
